Downhill Mountain Biking at Greek Peak


Saturdays: September 15, 22, 29, October 6
Sundays: September 16, 23, 30, October 7

Join us for Downhill Mountain Biking at Greek Peak. This is a 4-week program, meaning you sign-up for the entire 4 week season on either saturdays or sundays (no switching between days once you pick your choice of saturday or sunday).

Price includes 4 weeks of transportation to and from, bike and helmet rentals, lift tickets, lunch, and lessons for the first 2 weeks.

- This trip is limited to only 15 people on Saturdays and 15 people on Sundays.
- The same 15 people will attend the 4 week program on the day they choose.


Transportation Details:

  • The Yellow School Bus will leave from SU's College Place (in front of Sims Hall) at 9:00am sharp.

  • The Yellow School Bus will depart from Greek Peak at 3:00pm and should be back to SU by 4:00pm.

  • Please arrive to meet the bus by 8:45am to check in. Don’t be late otherwise you will be left behind and there are NO REFUNDS for missing the bus.

  • Be sure to eat a full breakfast before you meet the bus or bring breakfast to eat on the bus.
  • No matter what the weather is like outside, be sure to load up on the sunscreen protection!

  • We go whether it’s sunny or raining (unless Greek Peak cancels due to trail conditions)

  • Be sure to make a bathroom stop before leaving. The trip is about 60 minutes from SU. There are no planned restroom stops and there is no bathroom on the bus.

What’s Included:

  • Roundtrip transportation from SU’s College Place (in front of Sims Hall near the bus stop) to Greek Peak in Cortland, NY

  • All rentals including: downhill mountain bike, helmet

  • Two Downhill Mountain Biking lessons (45 minutes each for the first 2 weeks)

  • Lunch

  • Trail pass with up to 4 hours of riding time each day of the program

What to Bring:

  • Your SU/ESF ID card

  • A positive, fun attitude: You are likely be tired and worn out throughout the day. You might even take a fall or two.. it is downhill mountain biking.

  • A willingness to listen to your instructor during lessons and follow all applicable rules.

  • A change of clothes for after you get off the mountain (if you would like).

  • Extra clothing layers: this trip is shine or rain as long as the trails are in good condition to ride.  -Longer shorts and a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt are recommended for comfort and protection against branches, etc.

  • Athletic shoes. The more stiff the shoe, the better.

  • Any medication you would normally take throughout the day (e.g. Asthma Inhaler).

  • Money if you would like to buy additional food, gear, etc.
