Neighborhood Youth Recreation

Thank you for your interest in the Neighborhood Youth Recreation Program. NYRP is a Department of Recreation Services and Syracuse University-sponsored program, providing free recreational opportunities for youth ages 5-13 from the City of Syracuse community. NYRP is designed to give community youth, ages 5-13, regardless of their economic situation, the opportunity to participate in safe, structured recreational activities. Instruction is available in Gymnastics, Basketball, Swimming, Yoga, Salsa Dancing, Tutoring and (some activities are designed for parents and kids to participate together). Sessions are held on Saturdays throughout the school year, from 9:00am to 11:30am. 

Parents/guardians must attend the Open Registration session in order to register.  A calendar with class times and dates will be handed out at the registration session.

So, what would my child do during the NYRP?
To answer that question, lets take a look at what a typical day at the NYRP looks like: 

Participants can choose from a variety of activities, including:

- Basketball fundamentals

- Gymnastics

- Open Swimming

- Yoga, and Salsa Merengue (for kids and parents together)
